PM Vikas Scheme: These days, many youth remain unemployed despite completing their education due to lack of proper skills. The central government has recognized this problem and has designed the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Yojana to help the youth of minority communities. The main objective of this scheme is to provide self-employment opportunities to the youth and strengthen their economic status. The training includes classroom teaching as well as practical knowledge and industry experience. This will greatly help in getting jobs or starting their own businesses.


The training period is usually 3 to 6 months , and it is completely free. A recognized certificate is given after completion, which is useful for future opportunities. Both women and youth can avail this scheme, and it also helps in creating jobs at the local level.


As per the eligibility criteria, candidates belonging to minority communities, aged between 18 and 45 years , and having passed at least 10th standard can apply. Annual family income should not exceed Rs 8 lakhs . Required documents are Aadhaar card, caste certificate, income certificate, educational certificates and bank details.


Application process – can be done online through Skill India portal. First, register on the portal and verify the OTP through Aadhaar linked mobile. Then set up a profile, search for PM VIKAS courses, select the right batch and apply.


Through this scheme, many women are setting up small units and increasing their income. But in some areas, there may be delays in the application process, so it is better to prepare the documents in advance. You can take advantage of this opportunity and achieve self-reliance.
