Admission / Eligibility CAT 2026 Educational Qualification Details
Candidate Type	Eligibility Details
Bachelor's Degree	Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university or educational institution.
SC / ST / PwBD Candidates	Candidates belonging to SC, ST and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities categories must have at least 45% marks or equivalent CGPA in the Bachelor's degree.
Final Year Candidates	Students appearing in the final year of a Bachelor's degree can apply, subject to the conditions prescribed by the CAT 2026 information bulletin and the respective IIM.
Professional Degree Holders	Candidates with professional degrees such as CA, CS, ICWA/CMA or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India can apply if they satisfy the prescribed eligibility requirements.
Degree Awaiting Result	Candidates who have completed the degree requirements but are awaiting results may also apply, subject to the conditions prescribed by IIMs.
Number of Attempts	There is no prescribed limit on the number of CAT attempts.
Total Vacancy: Not Applicable – Management Entrance Examination CAT 2026 is an entrance examination for admission to IIMs and other institutions accepting CAT scores. Admission seats and programme intake are decided separately by participating institutions.

Selection Process Appear in CAT 2026. Receive CAT score and percentile after result declaration. Participating IIMs shortlist candidates according to their respective admission policies. Shortlisted candidates may be required to participate in Written Ability Test, Personal Interview, or other selection components depending on the IIM and programme. Final admission is decided separately by each IIM according to its published selection criteria.
How to Apply Online Visit the official CAT 2026 website. Click on New Candidate Registration. Register using your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. Verify the OTP and create your CAT login credentials. Login to the CAT 2026 application portal. Enter personal, academic and work experience details. Upload the required photograph, signature and category certificate where applicable. Select the IIM programmes for which you wish to be considered. Select five preferred test cities in the prescribed order. Pay the applicable CAT 2026 registration fee online. Review the complete application form carefully. Submit the form before 22 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. Download or save the confirmation page and application details for future reference.
How to Download Admit Card Visit the official CAT website after the admit card is released. Login using your CAT 2026 User ID and password. Open the Admit Card download section. Download the CAT 2026 Admit Card PDF. Check your name, photograph, test centre, date and session details. Take a clear printout and carry it to the examination centre along with the required identity proof.
How to Check CAT Result 2026 Visit the official CAT website. Login using your CAT credentials. Open the CAT 2026 Scorecard / Result section after declaration. Enter the required login details. View your overall and sectional percentile. Download and save the CAT 2026 scorecard for admission purposes.
Important Instructions The CAT 2026 registration deadline has been extended to 22 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. Do not wait until the final hours to complete fee payment and form submission. Choose the five test-city preferences carefully because centre allotment is subject to availability. Check academic marks and category information carefully before final submission. Candidates should upload valid category certificates in the prescribed format where applicable.
